Conservative diagnostics and minimally invasive techniques extend tooth life

Conservative or restorative dentistry restores the structure of natural teeth that have suffered caries, wear due to crowding, trauma or fissures. If the condition reaches the dental pulp or nerve of the tooth, endodontics should be performed prior to conservative treatment.

Dental caries is the most common pathology requiring restorative treatment. It comes from the reaction between bacteria and food sugars and affects tooth enamel. If not treated in time, it continues to invade the deeper tissues of the tooth such as dentin and dental pulp.

Our specialists in conservative dentistry treat caries by removing all infected tissue and restoring it with biocompatible materials, always under absolute isolation of the tooth to prevent the entry of bacteria.

Our medical director is a professor of the master’s degree in esthetic restorative dentistry at the International University of Catalonia (UIC), bringing to the clinic the latest technology, techniques and materials for our dental restorations.

Types of dental restoration

  • Fillings or fillings

They are performed in one session and restore the damaged space with a resin material called composite.

  • Reconstructions

The same procedure and material is applied as for fillings, with the difference that the volume to be restored is larger. In the indicated cases we insert a small fiberglass pole inside for greater stability.

  • Inlays

In a first session we prepare the tooth generating the space for the restoration. We then took digital records to design and create a custom ceramic block that we will place in a second session.

  • Covers or crowns

We apply the same procedure and material as for inlays, with the difference that the caps need more preparation and cover the entire tooth.

Advantages of conservative dentistry

First class materials

We work with the most esthetic and resistant restoration materials available today, recovering the original functionality, anatomy and brightness of the tooth.

CEREC Technology

Our CEREC technology allows us to take digital records in 3D, creating more precise, durable restorations and avoiding the uncomfortable impression pastes of the traditional process.

We respect the natural tooth

Our conservative dentistry specialists use minimally invasive techniques in tooth preparation, respecting the original tooth structure as much as possible.

Conservative diagnoses

We are committed to conservative diagnostics to extend the life of teeth:

– We propose inlays to the detriment of caps whenever the case allows it, intervening less on the natural tooth.
– We perform large reconstructions when the infection is very close to the pulp, preserving the nerve and dental vitality.
– In case of nerve damage, we perform endodontics with microscopic technology and the most biocompatible and regenerative materials available today, avoiding tooth extraction.

White esthetics

We remove metal dental fillings, restoring white aesthetics to your smile, avoiding possible problems of sensitivity, cavities and food accumulation.

How to access a quality restorative treatment?

You should go to a clinic with specialists in conservative dentistry who use the latest techniques, technology and materials in dental restoration. In our clinic we have an advanced dental restoration team led by Dr. Roldán, professor of the master’s degree in esthetic restorative dentistry at the UIC.

How can I maximize the life of my damaged tooth?

Through conservative diagnostics and minimally invasive techniques. In our clinic we are committed to dental inlays, treatments that are more respectful of the natural tooth than dental caps. Our regenerative materials, 3D CBCT technology and the expertise of our specialists allow us to make more conservative diagnoses. In addition, we apply the most advanced techniques in dental preparation, intervening the original tooth to a minimum.

What does CEREC technology bring to dental restorations?

It allows us to scan in 3D the measurements of the mouth of our patients, avoiding the uncomfortable pastes of the traditional process, achieving a more accurate design of the restoration and a more durable result. In addition, we can create the dental restoration in the same clinic, shortening the time between visits.
